Moroccan Stencils Created These Stunning DIY Curtains Ideas
Welcome back my DIY weekend warriors! I hope everyone had a productive, ‘crossing things off the list’ type of weekend where you completed all those stencil projects you had lined up. If not, well then it’s no biggie! Because today I have a DIY stencil idea that is so quick and easy it could be done right after work!
Have you been looking around and thinking, gosh my room decor is missing something? Or have you recently renovated your space but completely ignored your windows? I’ve been in your shoes before. I’ve renovated a room only to stand in front of the windows going what should I do with these things. It’s not easy when you want a designer look but don’t want to pay high end designer prices. And it can be a challenge to find a window treatment in the right color to go with your home decor.
Well that’s where Cutting Edge Stencils comes in! We can help with an awesome and easy stencil idea! Our Moroccan Stencils can be used to make your own stunning DIY curtains ! And today I’m going to show you two stunning Moroccan Stenciled Curtains, that are sure to inspire!
DIY Curtain Idea #1: Zamira Stenciled Curtains
Meet Lisa, the fabulously frugal DIYer from Shine Your Light Blog. You see Lisa had renovated her dining room on a budget about two years ago but she felt it was lacking something. See her before and after below:
In desperate need to add some personality to her new space, Lisa decided to user the Zamira stencil she had one in a contest. Now here is the part where you learn just how fabulously frugal she is! Look closely at the style-forward curtains with Cutting Edge Stencils‘ Zamira pattern; they’re actually drop cloths! Isn’t that awesome!
Here’s how she did it! She bought plain white drop cloths from Lowes and Walmart for $20 which came out to about $10 each panel. Then she taped down the panels onto the floor over black craft paper but suggest using large garbage bags so that no paint leaks through the back onto the floor! Lisa mixed her paint with textile medium to create the perfect paint for stenciling on fabric! The Zamira design was then taped down with painters tape, the dense foam roller was loaded, excess paint was rolled off onto a paper towel, and Lisa was ready to paint! To free up her workspace, as she finished a panel she hung them using rings with clips so they could dry overnight. The outcome: beautiful designer looking curtains for a fraction of the price! Even her husband had to admit “They look great! You can’t even tell they’re drop cloths.”
DIY Curtain Idea #2: Rabat Stenciled Curtains
Meet Amber the trend spotting, DIY blogger behind Crazy Little Projects Amber decided to make curtains for her kitchen but she couldn’t find any fabric in the turquoise color she had her heart set on. She decided to take matters into her own hands and stencil her curtains in the color she wanted. Amber stenciled her DIY curtains with Cutting Edge Stencils’ Rabat Stencil pattern using a tablecloth she had gotten from Target for about $17 (it made both panels of curtains ). In the end Amber says, ” I really love how they turned out. Every time I walk through my kitchen I smile.”
